Dr. Eisenberg grew up in Memphis and attended Briarcrest Christian School and then Samford University in Birmingham, AL, graduating with a BS in 1999. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry with honors in 2003 under a four-year US Navy Health Professionals Scholarship. After Dental School, she completed a four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital-Saint Raphael Campus, in 2007.
Dr. Eisenberg completed nine years of service as a Commander in the United States Navy in July 2016. Her time included work as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Naval Hospital Portsmouth, Virginia from July 2007 to July 2009. She then served as the Assistant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program Director for a time during her three years at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. In July 2012, she moved to Okinawa, Japan where she served as the Dental Department Head and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Naval Hospital Okinawa. In her last tour, she served at Branch Health Clinic, Washington Navy Yard where she worked as the Dental Department Head and then Officer in Charge. During her time in the service, she volunteered for multiple temporary assignments, serving aboard the USS George Washington (CVN 73), at Naval Hospital, Naples, Italy, and at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base when Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons were requested. Her personal military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.
Dr. Eisenberg is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. She is also member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Tennessee Dental Association, Tennessee Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the International Team for Implantology.
Her interests include running, traveling, outdoor activities, and gardening. Her husband, Mitch, is a United States Naval Academy Graduate and an attorney at The Bosch Law Firm. Mitch and Nicole have boy and girl twins that keep them busy with numerous activities. They moved to Knoxville in the summer of 2016 and quickly immersed themselves into the community by attending UT sporting events, KYS sporting events, Sequoyah Elementary School functions, and local charity functions. Dr. Eisenberg volunteers as an Oral Surgeon at the Volunteer Ministry Dental Center and InterFaith Health Clinics and is a graduate of Introduction Knoxville Spring Class of 2018.
